The volunteer Board of Directors, which is responsible for the governance of the corporation, is seeking new Board members who have a strong sense of volunteerism, who play a leadership role in the communities we serve, and who may demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in, but not limited to, the areas of social and community services, resident engagement, immigration/re-settlement, real estate and building construction. Victoria Park Community Homes Inc. serves a diverse client base and welcomes applications that reflect our clientele. Directors are eligible to hold office for a 3-year term after which they may express interest in continuing for a second consecutive term for a maximum of 6 years in office. Working collaboratively with the Management Team, the Board is actively involved in setting strategic priorities and goals based on the vision and mission of the organization. Board and committee meetings are generally held once a month at the head office in downtown Hamilton, excluding July and August. Travel expenses are reimbursed on a per kilometer basis.
