We have an opening for a full-time, permanent LIVE-IN RESIDENT MANAGER COUPLE (151 Queen Street, 40 Oxford Street, Hamilton, ON)

Position Objectives

Reporting to the Building Manager, the Resident Manager Couple is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping of the rental property.

Compensation
Starting Salary: $38,448 each, per year

 

Benefits: Two (2) bedroom unit + utilities (taxable benefit); Group health insurance plan (extended Health, Dental, Life, Long-Term Disability, Travel, Accidental Death and Dismemberment; Employee Assistance Plan); pension plan; professional training and development opportunities; paid time off; 3 weeks’ annual vacation to start.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Service various notices and correspondence.
  • Cleaning common areas of the building.
  • Complete tenant maintenance request items, as required.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective action.
  • Schedule, assign, and conduct preventative and ongoing maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance in vacant units; make ready for new residents.
  • Determine maintenance supplies and equipment needs for the operations of the building and grounds.
  • Assist with conducting monthly fire alarm testing.
  • Participate in an emergency after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Arrange and schedule work according to priorities determined by the Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as described in the position’s Job Summary.

 

Minimum Education, Experience, and Qualifications Required

  • Must be reliable and possess a positive attitude.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must enjoy fixing and maintaining building components in a proficient manner.
  • Must be able to work independently with little supervision while working in a “Team Approach” with our residents, contractors and other staff.
  • Must be familiar with the operation of high-pressure hot water heating and domestic hot water systems.
  • High-school graduate, preferably in technical trades training, or equivalent
  • Must be certified by a recognized authority to administer Emergency First Aid and CPR. Training will be provided by the corporation at the corporation’s expense.
  • Must attend all safety courses and training as required by the corporation at the corporation’s expense.

 

Working Conditions

  • Be bondable and prepared to execute the Bondability Affidavit
  • Successful candidates will be subject to a satisfactory Police Check at their expense.
  • This position is open only to those legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.
  • The position is based at 151 Queen Street, 40 Oxford Street and 155 Queen Street, Hamilton.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment, as required.
  • Regular hours of employment are 35 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, with occasional work outside of those hours.
  • On Call: Rotating as per schedule – evenings and weekends, and statutory holidays.
  • Parking will be provided onsite (taxable benefit).
  • Possess a valid and unrestricted Class G Ontario Driver’s License for the class of vehicle operated.
  • Frequent exposure to the elements.
