A controversial policy change for social housing residents who have arrears could be altered, says the man who drafted the suggested change.
Scott Robertson, manager of the housing programs branch for Hastings County, said the policy change — which would bar anyone with an excess of $500 in arrears to the county’s social housing program from obtaining a unit — will be back before the social services committee early next month. The Dec. 7 presentation, he said, will give committee members more information and options, should it be decided the proposed policy is not sufficient.
