HSC Investment Program

HSC created SHSC Financial Inc. (SHSCFI) to administer the Social Housing Investment Program, an investment program for Ontario housing providers.

SHSCFI offers housing providers a range of investment funds designed to meet their needs and enable the effective investment of capital reserves as well as operating dollars; a complimentary education program helps providers take an active role in maximizing their investments

SHSCFI is an Ontario Securities Commission registered Investment Fund Manager and it manages three investment funds with Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management, an operating division of RBC Global Asset Management, as portfolio adviser.

The Social Housing Investment Program gives providers:

• A wide range of vehicles for their money, with both long and short-term investments
• Access to professional money management and expert advice
• A low management expense ratio, as only a big investor could achieve
• Funds designed to meet their needs and interests
• The ability to adapt to changing needs over time
• Funds overseen by a board where providers are represented
